Locking In Now ("the App") is a focus and distraction-blocking app for Android. This policy explains what data the App accesses and why.
The App uses Android's Accessibility Service API for one purpose only: detecting when a foreground app the user has chosen to block is opened, so the App can display a block screen. It does not read, log, or transmit the content of other apps' screens, does not record keystrokes, and does not use this permission for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to app-blocking that the user has explicitly configured.
The App uses Android's local VPN API to filter DNS requests for websites the user has chosen to block. All filtering happens on-device. No browsing traffic, DNS queries, or website content is sent to Locking In Now's servers or any third party. The local VPN is used purely as a mechanism to intercept and filter DNS lookups against the user's own block list.
If the user opts in, the App registers as a Device Administrator so that removing the App requires an extra confirmation step, and can optionally notify a self-designated "accountability partner" via the device's normal share sheet. This is entirely opt-in and stored locally.
We do not collect browsing history, screen content, keystrokes, contacts, or location.
Free accounts see banner ads served through Google AdMob on non-critical screens only (never on the block screen or during an active focus session). AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure these ads, under Google's own privacy policy. We do not share any other app data with advertisers, and upgrading to premium removes ads entirely.
Purchases made through the App are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store payment card details.
You can request deletion of your account (the email address and subscription status stored on our server) at any time: locking-in-now-backend-production.up.railway.app/delete-account. Check-ins, mood logs, block lists, and focus session history live only on your device and are removed automatically when you uninstall the App.
